From myCN2: Agriculture commissioner candidate Ryan Quarles launches targeted campaign ads

Republican candidate for agriculture commissioner Ryan Quarles released a trio of geographically targeted television ads on Tuesday focusing on his background and efforts for each diverse region of Kentucky.

The ads, part of a six-figure buy, and focus on Quarles’ background, the local food movement, and initiatives the GOP nominee will bring as Agriculture Commissioner.

The first spot running in Northern Kentucky and Louisville media markets focuses on farm-to-table and urban agriculture.

The second spot targets the Lexington and Hazard media markets and focuses on emerging crops and EPAoverreach.

“Kentucky’s seen a revival in farming we need to harness it for our future,” Quarles says in the ad. “Old crops have become a new hope. Emerging products have taken root. We can’t let government overreach stop our growth.”

The final spot is aimed at Western Kentucky with media buys in the Bowling Green and Paducah media markets, plays up Quarles’ farming background.

“Kentucky agriculture isn’t just about one crop or one region,” Quarles said in a press release. “Whether it’s a 10,000 acre corn farmer in Christian County, someone canning jellies and jams in Mckee or a Louisville restaurateur serving Kentucky proud produce, I will be a Commissioner for the whole state.”

Quarles faces Democratic candidate Jean-Marie Lawson Spann in the Nov. 3 election.
